JimDornWeb is dedicated to enabling web clients to use content management software to assume full control over the content of a website using nothing more than a basic web browser, such as internet explorer.

There are two basic options for users.

Option One

Using the content management approach, a client can write, edit and post content directly to a website based on predetermined rights assigned by the owner of the website.

Login as either a:

  • Trusted Writer Username:TWriter Password:

JimDornWeb will evaluate a client’s current web status and create and execute a plan to connect the client’s established mission with their day to day website functionality.  Once the mission of the website is clear and agreed to by the client and JimDornWeb, a website will be created or the existing website modified and then a training and support plan will be created and implemented.

JimDornWeb will assist the client to understand their technology requirements, establish their understanding of web development capabilities, and once they understand the capabilities of technology website management. The client understands the needs, and JimDornWeb will match those needs and expectations subject to client available resources. We will assist them in understanding the implications, not only of future capabilities, but internal structural personnel requirements needed to make those capabilities a reality. In simple terms, most clients – and most especially those clients working with others resources – schools, municipalities, churches, fire and rescue services, do not have the resources to have full time IT staff to support a full, dynamic web presence, but none the less need the capabilities afforded by such a service. Here two merged solutions – a newer, dynamic technology to allow non technical staff to manage the web internally – along with a short term technology consultant to move them to that point.
In a necessary related service, JimDornWeb will train and support customers in their personal population and maintenance of their website. The focus of JimDornWeb will be to empower the customer to fully manage the website themselves and give them the training and tools to do that while assisting the web developer
to understand the requirements of the client.
Most clients today have spent the last decade or more learning how to word process, publish, number process (spreadsheets) and manage data. Those skills are all that is needed to manage a properly designed and built CMS website. The customer base will be schools, municipalities (towns, villages etc.), fire and rescue departments and squads, and churches. To a lesser extent, some additional clients including Real Estate will not fit this mold. Each of these non profit based entities share some common properties. First, they are dealing with other peoples resources, including money and time. Second, they are not in the business of making a profit, rather, providing a service. Therefore, resources do not follow the tenets of the corporate model, or put in a different way, function based on a profit and loss model. JimDornWeb will primarily work with key internal client personnel to understand their work process and assist them in incorporating the CMS web management process into their daily work process. Since the basis for the resources of these organizations are often either public taxes or contributions. Key client contacts are will usually be either volunteers or public employees. Managers and supervisors are elected, appointed, or recruited with a goal that is not based on a corporate model of making a profit. They are responsible for less tangible, and not easily measured outcomes – like education, public safety or in the case of a churches, outcomes that are nclearly observed.
Websites will be developed with a “back end” capability designed to allow key staffers and managers to maintain websites internally without having to purchase expensive proprietary software (FrontPage, Dreamweaver etc.) which also would then need to be distributed over an entire network of computers, including home computers. The only requirement for the JimDornWeb solutions would be access to the internet through a browser and some training.

Training can also be web based and hands on using a communication device (phone or IM) and web access.
